Füssen:

A small town in Bavaria, near the Austrian border, situated along the Ancient Roman road, Via Claudia Augusta, which was extremely important for the trade between the northern and southern parts of the Alps, running from the Danube, nearby Augsburg,  until Venice.

The worlds first Luthiers Guild was founded in Füssen in 1592.
